"The Gray Lining"
By Tracy Murdock

Experimenting with layers of gray….

My latest design obsession is using grays as a backdrop for the room. Tracy explains, "Everything in the room really comes to life when placed against the soft grays. The white is whiter, even your skin tone is brighter." Like my latest creation, we wrapped the room in grays, which allows even the white to pop out and make a statement. With a punch of yellow, this room is tranquil, yet has interest.

You can select a paint palette that uses various grey tones on the walls, woodwork and ceiling.

Mirrors really work well with grays since they reflect the tranquil feel and add more interest in a space that could be too simple and light.

Use the details to add color, such as the sconces below. These details create the silver lining in a gray lined room.
