Care of Fine Linens

I'm a big fan of really nice sheets!!!
.. 500+ thread count. So, I like
to pass on how I take care of really fine linens to make them last for years to
come.
Before laundering, check your new linens for size and fit.
Home Laundering:
- Wash in cool or
cold water.
- Use Cheer free
detergent or other non additive detergent that does not contain bleach.
- DO NOT use fabric
softener of any kind
They break down the fibers.
- Fill your machine,
add your detergent and then place your fine linens in the machine.
- Use Biz if you
have a stain on your sheet. (coffee etc
)
- Do not place your
linens in a hot dyer (excessive heat will cause abnormal shrinkage, loss of
luster, and break down the delicate fibers in high thread count sheets.)
- Remove from the
dyer when damp and press with an (low heat setting) iron or hang dry.
- To add a nice
scent to your fine linens, place a sachet of your favorite scent, such as
lavender, rose, etc.. while they are in the linen closet.
