The artists of the Artist's Warehouse District north of downtown Houston are survivors of last years Hurricane Ike, this years economic tsunami & political social storms. Over 100 Artists will once again open their working art studios, exhibition spaces & homes to the public for the 17th Annual Artist's Warehouse ARTCRAWL, Saturday, November, 21, 2009, from 10 am. to 9 pm. Diverse Works & Fotofest, Internationally recognized non-profit arts organizations will present special exhibitions. Maps available at Motherdog Studios, ARTCRAWL Houston headquarters.

The new time will add four more hours of daylight for visitors to explore the sights and sounds of the original and official ARTCRAWL neighborhood cluster of warehouses. As with the ever changing nature of the city and the bayous, the artists and warehouse also come and go.

Even though there will be NO shuttle bus transportation again this year, visitors are encouraged to go green ... ride bikes and walk this diverse historical neighborhood of Houston that includes the vivid turquoise / purple colored 1923 McKee Street Bridge in what used to be called Frost Town.

Dawn Fudge, owner of the landmark Last Concert will open early at 11:00 am. to accommodate hungry and thirsty ARTCRAWLERS. New in the neighborhood this year we have our own mom & pop “burger joint” and “ ice house”.

New Warehouses on the Saturday Open House Route includes: Box 13, Canal Street Gallery, and Super Happy Fun Land.
