FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It's almost time for the Original Round Top Spring Antiques Fair, the Show That Started It All in Round Top, Texas

The Spring 2009 Original Round Top Antiques Fair starting Wednesday, April 1 through Saturday, April 4, is shaping up to be one of the largest in years. With the new Continental Tent chocked full of incredible and exquisite European, the Big Red Barn full of fabulous quality Americana, and the huge 300 ft. Big Red Barn Tent filled with dealers displaying a mix of Americana and European antiques, this show is sure to be a record-breaker.

The “show that started it all” in tiny Round Top, Texas, keeps breaking its own records year after year. Since the Big Red Barn’s opening almost ten years ago, customers could always find dealers with great European furniture and accessories among the fine quality Americana and early Texan for which the Barn is famous.

In the fall 2009, owners Susan and Bo Franks decided to take this popular market up a notch by adding an air-conditioned Continental Tent exclusively for the European marketplace. The new Tent features dealers that have national and international reputations for outstanding European offerings. The Continental Tent was such a big hit with Fall customers that the Franks decided to celebrate the Spring Antiques Fair with a Grand Opening Party on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm in the Continental Tent, the Big Red Barn, and the Big Red Barn Tent, giving customers an opportunity to shop late while they offer a toast to the Continental Tent. The $10 admission ticket, always good for all locations and all times, will also be honored for the Grand Opening Party.

Meanwhile, the Franks have been scouring the country to bring the best of the best of both Americana and European dealers to the Big Red Barn Tent, with the result that this 300 ft. long Tent is now the largest it has ever been, and also includes dealers of national repute.

Following the exciting Fall Antiques Fair, January’s Winter Antiques Show in the Big Red Barn sets all records for attendance at a summer or winter show. Attendance and purchases were even stronger than usual – creating a perfect lead-in to a spectacular Spring Antiques Fair. Dealers know that the Texas economy remains strong, and they will be bringing their finest offerings, items they have found while shopping the whole country and even overseas, just to bring to this nationally known Antiques Fair.

The Continental Tent features the finest in European furnishings, art and silver, from the dramatic to the classically graceful, and from formal to country. It’s comfortably air conditioned or heated and is located right next to the Big Red Barn. The Big Red Barn Tent is now a mixed venue of quality Americana, European and eclectic – a continuation of both the Big Red Barn and the Continental Tent. It is joined by a sidewalk to the Continental Tent, making it easy for shoppers to go from one venue to the other.

The Big Red Barn and hidden jewel, Carmine Dance Hall, are also air-conditioned. There’s plenty of free parking close to each location, even for busses, and offer a FREE shuttle between the Big Red Barn and Carmine Dance Hall. If a buyer purchases furniture or other large items but don’t have a way to get them home, the convenient on-site shipper can handle packing and shipping for them!

Royers Café at Round Top is the exclusive food concessionaire at the Big Red Barn Center. Carmine Dance Hall continues to have award-winning barbecue and homemade desserts.

The bottom line? The Original Round Top Antiques Fair has it all: fabulous quality Americana, incredible European, eclectic and one-of-a-kind items, silver, art, jewelry, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Customers will have a memorable experience and will be delighted with what they find.
