ASID and IIDA Boards of Directors Hold Joint Meeting
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 13, 2008) The Boards of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), met recently to discuss the future of the Interior Design profession and issues that face each organization and their Members.
The historic meeting marks the first time that the full Board leadership of the two organizations have met.
ASID and IIDA will maintain a collaborative approach to joint initiatives that support the profession of Interior Design, and continue their dialogue about expanding opportunities for increased interaction.
It was an historic occasion
and more to the point, we got some positive first steps accomplished and set in motion some collaborative ideas that certainly make sense in todays changing marketplace, according to Bruce Brigham, FASID, President of the ASID Board of Directors
This first meeting was a very important step in understanding our common goals and identifying potential opportunities for collaboration between the two associations. Collectively moving forward, the associations will continue to explore ideas that will shape the future of design for our members, said Mitchell Sawasy, FIIDA, AIA, President of the IIDA Board of Directors.
