This beautiful, signed/numbered, Limited Edition Giclee, edition size 250, is from the watercolor painting titled "Fantasy Woods", created by Houston, Texas artist, Ann Bell, Past President of the Watercolor Art Society - Houston. Measures 15" X 11". Shipping & Insurance included to US address only. $160 Artist's Statement: "When I begin a painting, I am inspired by something I have seen recently. As I paint, I move deeper into myself until I am somewhere between memory and imagination. By the time I have finished, the line between reality, memory, and imagination has totally disappeared. I want my painting to depict a place that feels real and evokes a fond memory, without being specific or photographic. I invite you to step inside and linger in a place where time stands still and nature's peace prevails." "Transparent watercolor forms the basis for my work. The surface might be traditional watercolor paper, rag illustration board, or oriental paper which I crinkle to lend an air of mystery. As I journey into the individual piece, I intuitively reach for various additional materials to express what I am feeling. I might use gouache, pastel, colored pencil, acrylic or ink. My work originates from a deep desire to explore, appreciate, and enjoy nature, and to lead the viewer along a similar path." What is a Giclee? *Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a digital method of fine art printing.

Ann Bell will teach "Experimental Surfaces in Watercolor" on Friday afternoons at the Watercolor Art Society - Houston (WAS-H) building located at 1601 W. Alabama at Mandell beginning in September. This class will increase your creativity by teaching you to paint on non-traditional surfaces that encourage spontaneity. It is suitable for all skill levels. Advance registration is required. For more information, call Ann Bell, 281-330-3827. Pictured here is Ann Bell's watercolor Giclee titled "Sun-dappled Path".
Pictured here is Houston, Texas artist, Ann Bell's "Pathway to a Dream". Simply put, watercolor is a painting compound using water-soluble pigments that are either transparent or opaque. Because of the medium itself as well as the paper to which it is applied, watercolor is frequently thought of as a fugitive medium. Not so! While watercolor may not rival oils for durability and longevity, it is a medium that has a very durable and distinguished history and, clearly, a healthy future.

Peggy Berk of Area Aesthetics says to try at least one new color in your home to break your "color habits". Be bold, do something unexpected or something you've always wanted to try. If you are really hesitant, put the color inside a closet door - somewhere where you can see and react to it. The room which makes me smile in my home is one in which the painter made a mistake and used a color that I never would have chosen for myself. As I was awaiting his return visit for a repainting, I discovered that every time I walked into the room it made me smile. The room has been repainted a few times over the years, but always with what I call "my happy mistake."

By: Alice Krueser So your up and running! You have your "About Me" page carefully written and posted. Your images are finally sized properly so you can proudly showcase your art or design work in your gallery. Off you go into the magical World Wide Web. There's only one problem -- you are competing with millions of other artists and designers who are hoping for the same clients to stop by and visit to purchase your art or retain your services. What's the answer? Promotion, Promotion, Promotion. If you want online exposure, you MUST PROMOTE your website to your target audience; otherwise it just becomes an occasional "pit stop" of, maybe, if you're lucky, a one to ten second session of your home page.
Listen to what our member artists, designers, and friends are saying about AccessoryHut.com. "I was so impressed with the latest Art Promotion in Motion. You are surely talented and it certainly shows"! Barbara Willis, Potter, Malibu, California "I would be delighted and feel honored to write an article for you. Thank you for this opportunity. I've enjoyed every bit of this process with you." - Steve Conti, Biographer, Beverly Hills, California "Thank you so much for your continued interest and support. We love meeting people such as yourself that have the right energy to move forward. We have noticed quite an appeal to the designer market with Marc's work over the last two years, so we are excited to work with you on this" Marketing Director for artist, Marcus Antonius Jansen, Ft. Myers, Florida.
In memory of "Harry the Hound" (1991 - 2006) who recently
died at the age of 15 years and 4 months old. Harry was a Shih Tzu & Llaso
mix with the messiest hairdo when my friend Grace adopted him from the Houston
SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). "His hair was
such a mess that I couldn't even see his eyes" says SPCA Gala 2006 Chair,
Grace Holmes when asked how she came up with his name.
