Congratulations to our Featured Designer, McKinley Adams of Chicago, Illinois.  We appreciate his Design Tip contribution where he will enjoy an additional link to his firm's website.

We will continue to offer complimentary website space to artists and designers as well as listings to art galleries and antique shops throughout the year.  Thanks to our readers, these areas of our website, as well as the NEWS, ARTICLES, LINKS, and  DESIGN TIPS pages, are very popular.  Reserve your ad space on those pages while prime space is still available.  Contact the gallery at Shop@AccessoryHut.com for a digital copy of our media kit today.

With the continuing growth of our art and design participants and readers, comes the creation of our new name,

"Art & Design Matters", that will better define our services to the art and design Internet community.  We will continue to bring you related articles, news, press releases, links to events, and museums, as well as online designer portfolios and virtual art studios, to name a few.  Our underlying message of promoting art as home decor has expanded to promoting all who want to participate.  Also, we've heard the needs of the artists, so we've made an important change.  All artists are now given a profile website page, free of charge, with the support of our advertisers.  We also welcome a free listing and link to the art galleries where the artists showcase their work.   The antique shops are encouraged to be listed too....giving our readership another reason to bookmark our site to get to yours!

"Accessory Hut" will continue to offer objects for sale as a subsidiary of "Art & Design Matters"......keeping its motto in place...."Home Decor with Yesterday's & Today's Artists in Mind".

Do you know an individual or firm that would be interested in advertising with us so that we may continue to promote the artists and designers?
Click here  for our media kit and please forward this publication now to your list of firms that you think would be interested in joining our promotional efforts.  Our site's traffic for the year 2007 increased 230% from year 2006!  That's an accomplishment we are all proud of!

A "Special Thanks" to modernism magazine for including Accessory Hut as one of their "More Picks" links from their website.  If you haven't seen this publication, its a winner for the art and design enthusiast.  You'll find a link to their site from our LINKS page.

McKinley Adams ~
Chicago, Illinois

"McKinley is not your typical designer. His positive attitude and his "down to earth" personality make him stand out from the others. "Having an Interior Design degree and Art History degree goes together like bread and butter. Having these two degrees helps in putting together different periods and styles" says McKinley."

Sandi Dahl ~
Fargo, North Dakota

I approach the easel with the intent to compose from memories, images "in my mind's eye". Once I start a "series" of a specific image, I build upon those thoughts with new variations, just as Monet did in his "Haystacks" series. My paintings are not of a specific scene, but are of a sense of place, in a moment of time. My major art medium is pastel and I also work with mixed media. My art career has included the mediums of oil, watercolor and acrylic. I consider myself a colorist, having studied with the greatest American landscape colorist, Wolf Kahn. My intention is to involve the viewer with lively, expressive strokes of the pastel stick. Color and light are my tools, using both to create mood and emotional impact.
