ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
Laurie Svec is a watercolor artist, photographer, and writer. She was raised in the Pacific Northwest and took many private art lessons as a youngster. In college, Laurie received an Associate Degree in commercial art. After a move to Houston in 1991, Laurie became active in several organizations including Watercolor Art Society Houston, Egg Art Guild Houston, and Women in Visual and Literary Arts. She has had several awards, ribbons, and recognition for her watercolor art, photography and craft work. She has had a photograph accepted for the Wayfinding Project through the Cultural Arts Council of Houston. Laurie is a published writer and enjoys writing short stories, haiku, children's poetry, and traditional poetry.
CURRENT WORK:
My own water media technique (evaporative paintings) photography and textural watercolors.
