ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

I love painting on glass because of the expressive feeling that I am able to infuse into every flower petal and every leaf, bird and brush stroke. Exotic flowers and birds are a favorite subject because they bring the sounds, smells and senses from my travels through warm lands into each of my illuminated painted glass gardens. I use my hand slumped glass as my canvas and the resulting illuminated paintings are like a glimpse into another world.

My special painting technique, in which my flowers and leaves look as if they will pop right out of the glass, allows me to paint with the same freedom that I feel when exploring a deserted island beach or a hidden garden. There is an amazing 3 dimensional effect to my glass paintings that captivates viewers and makes them feel as if they have a blooming flower garden that is contained right in the glass canvas that is ready to burst out of the glass at any moment. Every time you look at my illuminated painted glass gardens, you will see something new.

ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY:

Jenny Floravita was born to be an artist. She began her studies in painting, drawing, music and dance as a small child, excelling in all. Her life in the San Francisco Bay Area afforded her great exposure to the arts.

Jenny won numerous awards as a young artist including four California Governor's Medallians and four California State Seals, two each for art and two for dance. After receiving several scholarships, Jenny went on to study and receive her formal art degree through University of California, Santa Cruz. She lived and worked in Santa Cruz as a graphic designer and fine art painter for several years before re-locating to her family's home town in the Delta.

Since 2000, Jenny Floravita's fine art career has blossomed. She has exhibited in numerous galleries and high-end art festivals. Jenny's journey in reverse glass painting began in the early summer of 2007 and since then she has added her beautiful custom glass painted chandeliers to her line of oil and watercolor paintings.
