The Ultimate Luxury
By Rachael Young, Allied ASID Liquid Design Studios www.LiquidDesignStudiosLLC.com
When asked, luxury clients and designers agree the most important luxury in life is not material things, but TIME. Luxury, by definition, is having time to spend with family or friends at their hobbies that don’t involve financial gain. Fortunately, time is a luxury that has no fixed price tag. Everyone can afford it, but not everyone knows how to purchase it.
How does this relate to design? Well, designers do more than selecting window treatments and paint colors. Design has a direct effect on your life and lifestyle. The layout of your home and work spaces help determine how efficient you are. The amenities that you have in those places influence your time management. By simply changing the layout of your home office, you can increase productivity, reduce physical strain and save money. And everyone who cooks knows the importance of a good kitchen layout. Designers can take that concept much further. By adding a home automation system, you can program lighting and entertainment to respond to your schedule, saving you time and money. These systems also handle your home security and home comfort systems. So, instead of programming the thermostat, checking the baby monitor, setting the burglar alarm, turning off all lights in the house and powering down home theater components, you can go to one control panel that handles it all.
Make your life simpler. Buy yourself the most precious commodity luxury offers. Ask a designer how to make the process easier for you so that you can spend your new luxury wisely.
