Are you an Artist or Interior Designer lost in the World Wide Web?
by Alice Krueser

So your up and running! You have your "About Me" page carefully written and posted. Your images are finally sized properly so you can proudly showcase your art or design work in your gallery. Off you go into the magical World Wide Web. There's only one problem……you are competing with millions of other artists and designers who are hoping for the same clients to stop by and visit to purchase your art or retain your services.

What's the answer? Promotion, Promotion, Promotion. If you want online exposure, you MUST PROMOTE your website to your target audience; otherwise it just becomes an occasional "pit stop" of, maybe, if you're lucky, a one to ten second session of your home page.

Here's another problem. This week, you've got a full schedule to meet life's obligations and work responsibilities. And then there's the valuable time you need to create and design. You ask yourself…..How am I going to find the time to promote my name on the World Wide Web? Ignoring the task, becoming frustrated and giving up won't work. Be a "Progressive" thinker to achieve your promotional goals. Don't be left behind in this ever changing World Wide Web in which we live.

What's a "Progressive"? Here's several definitions from the views of some Americans.

"A Progressive believes that together we can do so much more than we can do individually. A progressive understands that by helping anyone, we help everyone. A progressive knows that every action has a consequence and that the consequence must be positive. A progressive wants and needs to help."

"A Progressive is someone who has an open mind."

"A Progressive looks forward, not backward"

"A Progressive sees the big picture, not the small isolated one that serves only the few"

"A Progressive is a person who sees things outside the box"

"A Progressive is a humanitarian"

"A Progressive will never be satisfied with the status-quo"

"A Progressive is a person who steps out of the status quo' mold and into an evolving mode of someone who seeks to bring about changes. It is a person continuously evolving to become a beacon for change. A progressive is a person who sees the world from the eyes of change, a person who seeks to break through the established barriers."

Promoting yourself on the Internet is a must do task. Take the time to progress yourself by joining your peers and come together as a group and consolidate your online promotional efforts.

For example, the AccessoryHut.com website offers a directory of artists and designers where they come together to not only network with one another, but to create a site that is a one stop, online, shopping gallery for art & design. Become a part of a site that creates traffic via newsletters, articles , links, and industry exposure. Don't post your website at a "Non-Progressive" host site that charges you a fee to just "sit" in the middle of space. This is a common mistake that so many artists and designers are making today. Post your site where there is movement…..where there is action in your industry and professional presentation is displayed. Be a "Progressive" thinker!

Alice Krueser is the owner of www.AccessoryHut.com where artists and interior designers are strategically brought together and promoted at an online shopping gallery filled with decorative art as well as collaborative material and links. Artists pay no commission for the sale of their artwork and interior designers are given direct access to their artwork.
